I would like to interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you an important service announcement. The Quirky Feather Confectionery rocks....hard!
Why? They have amazing made from scratch goodies, delicious beverages (coffee, lattes, tea, vino, beer, soda, etc.), fun décor, plentiful outlets, free WiFi, AND kind accommodating staff. It is not often that I can put all of those adjectives in one sentence and have them describe a business.
I had a last minute change in venue for a scheduled moms night out art event with some friends and with a phone call only 30 minutes prior to our start time they were able to get a table set up for us with a lovely hand written Reserved sign on top. Now THAT'S customer service...
I ordered the almond biscotti, a flat white sprinkled with raw sugar, and had a Mexican Coke for kicks. The biscotti was flavorful and soft enough to enjoy without the need to dunk it in coffee and the flat white was perfection in a cup.
My friends and I had a wonderful time working on our string art while enjoying great food and drinks and the fun laid back vibe that The Quirky Feather has to offer.
Give them a try. You won't be disappointed!

Pals on Patrol is a non-profit founded by Megan Leahy that collects new or like new stuffed animals to donate to local police, fire, and state departments to give to children in times of traumatic, high stress situations. We interviewed her to find out more about this wonderful organization.
Q: Where did you get the idea for Pals on Patrol?
I knew that I wanted to start a non-profit but I was having a difficult time deciding on what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted it to be something I hadn't ever seen before. One day a friend was asking what she could do with her unused, but not unloved, stuffed animals and an idea popped into my head. It is widely known that children need something to hold on to in unfortunate times so I just figured that giving our unused, like new stuffed animals to emergency personnel would be beneficial to everyone involved. Those giving will have more room at home, the emergency workers will have something to give, and the children hurting just might have a sense of comfort, if even only for a little while.
Q: That makes sense… do you have a background in the emergency field?
I do. I have a degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration and have worked in the field for over ten years. My dad was a police officer and my mom is a nurse. I spent a lot of my childhood hanging out at the police department, court house, and hospital. I had awesome role models who taught by example and showed me that putting others first is always the right thing to do.
Q: How can we help Pals on Patrol?
You can help Pals on Patrol either by donating gently used or new stuffed animals (see website for guidelines) or donating Money to their Go Fund Me page.

Ever since my daughter was introduced to fairies via Disney's Tinker Bell she has been nothing short of enamored with the winged fantastical creatures so when I heard about Fairyville I knew that we just had to attend!
We live just a quick 10 minute drive away from Noblesville so we ventured over to Nickel Plate Arts to come check it out. Based off of how long we stayed (almost 2 hours) and her overall engagement, It was totally worth it!
After speaking to a friendly staff member we headed to the gallery to view the fairy houses and vote for our favorite. This was no easy task because each creation was thoughtfully and beautifully constructed. From fairy art galleries to Rapunzel's tower and everything between it was a feast for the eyes and inspiration to try some new things in our artistic adventures. Really gorgeous pieces!
After casting our vote we headed over to get crafty ourselves. For just $5 or $6 you could make your choice of a fairy house, dream catcher, mini fairy, or dragon tears. We gathered our fairy house materials and sat for nearly an hour carefully planning and assembling our creation. The result was even better than imagined!
There are lots of other great activities to participate in over the next few days including fairy tea parties, storytelling, live music, face painting, crafts, and more!
Visit here for all the details.
Wishing you a fun and fantastic weekend!
